This was a rather sad and upsetting installment. Malcolm and Seong-Jae seem farther apart than ever. Pieces of their past are gathering, including Malcolm’s ex-wife, although there’s no explanation yet for their past. Seong-Jae has to handle a case alone that challenges his rigid view of the law and justice.Like others I’m very unhappy with Malcolm at the end of this, yet I can see why it happened. I also wonder how much is really manipulation of Malcolm. Discoveries about Seong-Jae’s past don’t really clear anything up, just making him more mysterious. It’s a necessary sort of bridging episode I think, in preparation for more shifts in dynamics and character direction. It’s only a month between episodes but they’re killing me!

CRIMINAL INTENTIONS Season One Episode Four CHANGING FACES edition by Cole McCade Romance eBooks Reviews
3.5 stars...this hurts because this has been my favorite series this year. I fully appreciate so much about this installment but it was a bit of a letdown.
I didn’t enjoy this episode as much as the others. I prefer Malcolm and Seong-Jae working together. This seemed disjointed with only Seong-Jae on the case. The case was also not a mystery but I did appreciate how it brought questions up for Seong-Jae on morals and doing right by the law or possibly changing lives that could be punished for protecting themselves. That said, it lacked the grittiness the other murders did.
One thing I was not happy about was Malcolm’s ex-wife. Why is she here staying with Malcolm and why did he **SPOILER** have sleep with her? Why can’t he keep it in his pants for once? I didn’t get this part of the episode. I don’t like her, she is too perfect in her appearance. She knows Malcolm has feelings for Seong-Jae yet she threw herself at Malcolm. I don’t trust her motives. She grated on me and it wasn’t only because she was involved with Malcolm but her questioning of Seong-Jae and acting as if she belonged irked me. She’s not married to Malcolm anymore so why does she have such a huge part in this? Seong-Jae wasn’t his usual self, he showed more emotions but I missed him staring people down and making them uncomfortable. I wanted him to put her in her place!
I am getting antsy with these guys dancing around each other. I want something to happen soon. I feel like this episode set certain things in motion for future episodes. I’m ready for some answers!!!
I am really liking this series, but this book felt a little too short. Can't wait for the next one
Another 5 star episode.
I am hooked on this series, probably forever. So far, the series has been filled with adrenaline, intrigue, gruesomeness and of course, awesomeness. Buying the next one.
What can I say? This book to me was like a maze or spiral and we just keep winding in toward the center....closer and closer. I am so hooked!
If you are new to this series get reading. It is by far the best I have read!
In which we learn more about Seong Jae...and Malcolm's ex... And Yoon's secret past...
If you enjoy both murder mysteries and complex, slow-burn love stories between two complicated, stubborn individuals against the backdrop of Baltimore and a cast of equally-complicated people, join in on this well-written series.
This entire series has been awesome. Great characters and their developing story around some wicked homicides. Not for the faint hearted but definitely brilliant outstanding writing and reading.
Thank you Mr McCade 💚
